WARSAW, Poland (AP) — NATO allies located along the alliance’s eastern front are growing increasingly worried about the presence of Russia-linked Wagner group mercenaries in Belarus, where some have been deployed since a short-lived mutiny in Russia in June.Poland, Lithuania and Latvia — members of NATO and the European Union which border Belarus — had already been on alert since large numbers of migrants and refugees began arriving at their borders from Belarus two years ago. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian drones on Wednesday hit a Ukrainian port city along the border with NATO member Romania, causing significant damage and a huge fire at facilities that are key to Ukrainian grain exports following the end of a deal with Russia that allowed Ukrainian shipments to world markets.Since leaving the deal that allowed Ukraine to export through the city of Odesa, Russia has hammered the country’s ports with strikes. Two teens injured in Hamilton shooting; suspects sought

Police in Hamilton are searching for suspects after an overnight shooting that sent two teens to hospital.Officers responded to the area of Limeridge Road West and West 5th Street around 2 a.m. Wednesday after getting reports of shots fired.Police say a 15-year-old boy was found at the scene with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition.A second victim, a 16-year-old boy, fled the area before officers arrived and called for medical help. Police say he was brought to hospital and released after being treated.Investigators believe the incident was targeted. AUSTIN (KXAN) – Amid increases in emergency room visits from riders using e-bikes and scooters while intoxicated, Ascension Seton is urging people to find other ways to get home if they have been drinking alcohol. Dr. Jayson Aydelotte, trauma medical director at Dell Seton Medical Center, said that as the number of scooters and e-bikes have increased around Austin, so have the number of riders who have injured themselves while using them. One common characteristic of people who end up in the hospital after riding a scooter or e-bike is alcohol, Aydelotte said.“Since the scooters have come around, and the bikes too, if you get in an accident bad enough to give you an injury [and] get admitted to the hospital, 95% of those people have been drinking too much,” Aydelotte said. E-bikes and scooters started appearing on Austin streets in 2018.
