ALGONQUIN, Ill. (AP) — An Illinois woman has pleaded guilty but mentally ill in the 2020 stabbing deaths of her boyfriend's parents.Arin M. Fox, 42, pleaded guilty last week in McHenry County to one count of murder in exchange for prosecutors dismissing three additional murder counts and charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated battery and domestic battery, The Daily Herald of Arlington Heights reported.Authorities allege that Fox stabbed Noreen S. Gilard, 69, and Leonard J. Gilard, 73, to death in November 2020 inside their Algonquin home. They were the parents of her boyfriend at the time. She then drove their car to Douglas County, Colorado, where she was arrested. (WPIX) - A New Jersey mother is anxiously waiting for her son to come home as he serves in the Israel Defense Forces."There's so many feelings all at once," Nancy Dubin explained to Nexstar's WPIX. "I am proud of him, I am so proud of this kid. You can be proud of somebody and still feel abject terror at the same time, right?"Dubin describes the feeling as an out-of-body experience. A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said officers caught up to her and restrained her within about 10 minutes. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A case before the state's highest court Wednesday involved racial discrimination and a hostile work environment at a now-closed Harley-Davidson plant. Just before the Harley-Davidson plant in Kansas City closed in 2019, court documents allege there were incidents of violence toward Black workers. The decision before the seven-judge panel is whether all the plaintiffs involved in the lawsuit were subject to a hostile work environment. Nimrod Chapel, Jr., is the attorney representing the 18 former employees. Teen stabbed outside high school in Van Nuys

A teenage boy was reportedly found stabbed in the teacher’s parking lot of Ulysses S. Grant High School in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Valley Glen, authorities told KTLA.  Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the high school in the 13000 block of Oxnard Street just after 3:30 p.m. on reports of the violent incident.  Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department also responded to the school and reported that the approximately 16-year-old male was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.  Aerial footage from Sky5 showed several police cruisers outside the school’s campus. A man is being sought after being seen on video ramming an elderly and disabled man with a shopping cart in Santa Ana last month.The incident occurred Sept. 19 outside a grocery store in the 1400 block of West Edinger Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.The suspect, who was panhandling, apparently asked the victim for money. After the victim declined and walked away, video shows the suspect following him, pushing a cart into the victim from behind and stealing some of his belongings before running away.Video provided by the Santa Ana Police Department on Oct. 11, 2023 shows a man ramming a grocery cart into an elderly victim on Sept. 19, 2023. Unidentified man found with traumatic brain injury, Japanese currency in San Pedro

Public health officials in Los Angeles County are asking for help identifying a patient who was badly injured in San Pedro earlier this week.The patient, an Asian male in his mid-20s, was found in the 3700 block of South Meyler Street, a residential area near Wilders Addition Park, on Monday after sustaining a traumatic brain injury, according to L.A. County Health Services.The cause of his injury was not released.He was found with a black backpack, a wallet containing Japanese currency, and several travel-size personal hygiene items, officials said. He does not have any visible tattoos or other distinguishable marks.Authorities say the man is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 158 pounds.He was listed in grave condition at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he was intubated and sedated as of Wednesday.Anyone with information that may help to identify him is asked to contact the hospital at (424) 306-5305.
